The Role

We’re looking for an AI Software Engineer to build the intelligence layer of Wonder. You’ll turn research and experimentation into production-ready systems.

This role blends AI research, back-end engineering, and orchestration. You’ll explore and benchmark emerging models, fine-tune and evaluate them, develop agentic flows and context retrieval engines, and shape how Wonder integrates with leading AI providers.

In one sentence: Train, tune, and orchestrate AI systems that help people design in real time.

What you’ll do

• Fine-tune and evaluate models that power Wonder’s design generation and iteration loop.
• Build and improve context retrieval engines and agentic flows that understand user intent.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers to integrate AI seamlessly into Wonder’s creative canvas.
• Explore, benchmark, and push the limits of emerging open and proprietary models.
• Shape early technical culture, coding standards, and long-term architecture decisions.

What we’re looking for

• Led or contributed AI / LLM systems at top AI labs or fast-moving startups.
• Deep understanding of transformer architectures, fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
• Experience with managing end-to-end lifecycle of ML models, including data preparation, experiment tracking, and performance monitoring.
• Software development experience, specifically back-end or infrastructure engineering.
